Ways to Help

The Paul Hodges Trust is a small charity seeking to make a big impact – and we really need your help!

We’d love you to take action with us to help make the world a better, fairer place. Whether you can give time, money or the gift of an education, we promise that whatever you are able to share can make a huge difference.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

We are small charity, with a big focus on impact and value for money. We spend money carefully to achieve powerful results. For example, our girls’ education projects keep the most vulnerable girls in school for £120 per girl per year. Our projects for young mums provide a year of vocational skills training, basic literacy and numeracy and start-up materials for £210 per young woman, per year. Both these interventions have huge and long-lasting impacts. We are entirely dependent on donations to deliver our projects, so big or small, what ever you can give can make a difference. As the Trustees cover all the charities administration expenses, every pound donated goes straight to deliver our projects.

Shop

The talented young women in our tailoring apprenticeship programmes make a wide range of beautiful and unique items which we ship to the UK and sell through our Etsy shop. Every purchase helps them to earn a decent income while they learn, and all profits are reinvested so more young women get the opportunity to join the project in the future. Fundraise

We’d love you to help us raise more much needed money by doing your own fundraising events! From bake sales to sponsored challenges, there are so many ways you could help fundraise – let us know if you need some ideas!

One great way to fundraise is to sell our unique handmade decorations, bags, jewellery and gifts in the run up to Christmas. This can be done in workplaces, university, or anywhere else you can sell them. We will create a pack of products for you to sell, and any money you raise will go to ensuring more girls and women are given the skills and resources they need to thrive.

Are you a teacher or parent interested in fundraising with your school? Please check out our Schools Fundraising Pack filled with lots of ideas to get you started!

Volunteer

As a small charity, we are always looking for people who can offer their time and skills, helping us to help us grow and give more opportunities to women and girls in Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Sierra Leone.

For those looking to make a difference and gain experience in the charity sector, we have a recurring 3-month internship opportunity. This is often supporting the marketing and promotion of our online shop, with responsibility for social media and fundraising, but it can tailored to each applicants specific interests as well. Just get in touch! Paulhodgestrust@outlook.com
